On July 7, 2025, members of the Captain John Collins Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution participated in a public event titled “How to Join a Lineage Society,” held at the Switzer Library in the Community Room. The event featured representatives from both the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution, including members of the Kennesaw Mountain and Fielding-Lewis DAR Chapters. Representing the Captain John Collins Chapter were President Jason Shepherd, Vice-President Jim Poole, Secretary Chris Thompson, and DAR Liaison Chair Dan King, who shared insights into the SAR membership process and the importance of preserving patriotic lineage.
