An event hosted by the Daughters of the American Revolution National Headquarters – Sequoyah Chapter, focused on “Remembering and Honoring the Indigenous People of Georgia.” Held at Mt. Oglethorpe on November 3, the ceremony paid tribute to the history and heritage of the Cherokee and Creek nations in Georgia.

The event included the Georgia Society, Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard, Boy Scouts of America Troop 20, and special guests Helen Robertson Powell, Regent of the Georgia State Society, NSDAR, and Noah Tindall, First Vice President of the Georgia State Society C.A.R. We also heard from Wanda Patterson of the TOTA, Georgia Trail of Tears Association on the local history.

Thank you to everyone involved in organizing this meaningful event.
