On November 2, the Sugar Hill Historic Cemetery hosted a special dedication ceremony honoring the Revolutionary War service of Patriots Enoch Benson and Isaac Horton. Sponsored by several SAR and DAR chapters, this event commemorated the legacies of these patriots with newly placed memorial markers.
Attendees included descendants of the honorees, representatives from various SAR and DAR chapters, and local officials like Mayor Brandon Hembree of Sugar Hill. The @Georgia Society, Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard and the Colonel Elijah Clarke Militia Unit performed a musket firing salute and the Mourn Musket Salute, providing a moving tribute.
Through speeches, prayers, and military honors, the event highlighted the sacrifice and dedication of the patriots who fought for American independence. Special thanks were extended to the organizers, guests, and societies who made this meaningful ceremony possible.
