Kettle Creek Anniversary – February 14, 2026

The annual Battle of Kettle Creek commemoration pays tribute to one of Georgia’s most important Revolutionary War victories. On these hallowed grounds near Washington, Georgia, Patriot militia under leaders like Elijah Clarke, John Dooly, and Andrew Pickens turned back a larger Loyalist force on February 14, 1779, helping to secure the backcountry for the cause of independence.

Today’s observance remembers the courage, sacrifice, and determination of those citizen-soldiers who fought here, and keeps their legacy alive through ceremonies, educational programs, and the gathering of descendants, historians, and patriots. May we never forget the price of freedom and the local heroes who helped win it at Kettle Creek.
