The Captain John Collins Chapter recently held its monthly meeting, bringing together members and guests for an evening of fellowship, updates, and a powerful presentation. The highlight of the evening was our guest speakers, Mary and Ed Ettel, founders of Project Mail Call.

Mary and Ed shared the heartfelt mission behind Project Mail Call, an initiative dedicated to supporting deployed U.S. service members. Through their program, volunteers gather to assemble personalized care packages and handwritten letters for Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, and Coast Guardsmen stationed overseas. Special emphasis is placed on reaching those in isolated areas or units that receive little to no mail. Their efforts also extend to personnel engaged in humanitarian outreach—supporting schools, clinics, orphanages, and local villages abroad.

Their presentation was both moving and inspiring, reminding us all of the importance of small acts of kindness and support for those serving our nation far from home.
